![]() Give me an e-mail to when you have a chance. I too would like to know what it's approximate weight for transport to our barn/shop. So I am a little concerned about getting lost if I have to get too far away from the engine and into the drivetrain. While my expereince has generally been on MF and David Brown farm tractors, this will be my first go with something on tracks and I only have about 48-hours total running a dozer back in college. ![]() But it looks like it's all there, but was wondering about product (parts) support, etc. Now eyeing an old JD1010C that's been sitting at a neighboring ranch for at least a few decades. I just rebuilt a JD 4020, MF50C, and a Rhino FL15 Mag the past 3 months. Sounds like we have a lot in common.wishing we were wrenching on an old implement while we are sitting at FL430 programming an FMS! Looks a lot like your pics, but no ROPs, winch, and is a diesel. Hope the A&P will help with this little old dozer. More importantly I am working on a HGS Cat-II/IIIa Manual for our DA-900E圎ASy.yes I am a corporate pilot myself! (10 type-ratings but on Falcons the past few years). Strange as this may sound, I too am looking at an old JD 1010C as a rebuild project. I think it would be a great piece of history to preserve. I have the magazine but my brother has it. I looked at their websight and the do not have the article on there. Green magazine had a feature on the 1010 series in the August 2009 issue with production numbers and model breakdowns. How much are you going to use it.? As a farm or recreational tractor the steering would be something you could live with. The first generation xx10 series had troubles with the cylinder liners, not as bad a issue with the gas motors vs the diesel. Here is a link to Deereparts and there is a PDF file you can download of the parts manual. From modifying its Model D tractors into logging winches back in 1937 to the John Deere 743 Tree Harvester (able to harvest two trees per minute) introduced in 1977, Deere has continually worked to increase forestry operations’ productivity and efficiency. That said I would love to have a 1010 loader crawler. John Deere’s forestry equipment innovations have transformed the industry. Or even the 440 I've been looking at that I'll have to buy the same equip for.I have no experience with crawlers but I have heard they are very expensive to repair driveline issues. Can't have too many spares, right? What do you all think? If I bought these 2 and got the 1st one ready to work the price is still about the same as say, what I'll have in my 40c after buying a winch and canopy for it. Price would be less than buying a winch and canopy outright, and seems like there would be enough good spare parts to make it worth while even if just as a parts crawler. John Deere model JD 410 ( CCE ) w / WainRoy Bucket, Hughes Impactor and. Rolls pretty smooth but tracks are about shot and undercarriage is maybe at 40%. dozer, winch and rops, caterpillar model D8K - 8A - 58 ( CCE ) NSN 2410-00. Locked up motor, but has a canopy and a working winch. I found another one that's being sold for basically scrap price or maybe less. It's got a 6way blade but no winch or canopy. Tracks are in pretty good shape and have a good amount of adjustment left. Moves back and forth smoothly, just no turning. So I've found out the machine runs great but smokes just a lil from being left outside for a year or two.
